Wagons were die cast in the white metal alloy zamak and moulded in two parts, the body riveted to its wheelbase. The underside had Lone Star moulded in high relief.
Couplings were achieved by a pin at one end of the chassis and a loop at the other. The N gauge had plastic hooks at both ends, as did the later 000 models.
Depending on the wagon, it was mounted either a fixed four-wheel wheelbase or two bogies. The two bogies had detail of the spring suspension.
